Cajun music in San Leandro July 17

SAN LEANDRO — The Creole Belles band will perform Creole and Cajun music at a free concert July 17.

The performance will be at 7 p.m. at the Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave.

According to a library press release, the California-based band is know in the Cajun music scene for bringing the raw, driving authenticity of southwest Louisiana dance halls to its shows. The band’s music has been described as “a highly intoxicating brew of Cajun and Creole music played with spirit, reverence and love.”
