The morning of the garage sale, I schlep out to get my paper…and see a guy parked in his car across my driveway. An hour before the sale begins. Oh, and he’s idly pumping a small barbell while sitting behind the wheel.

Thus my first lesson of garage sale management: “Early birds pay double.”
