Bless this wonderful reader for discovering this clip I was searching for the day after Charlton Heston died.
He really was an incredible actor. Even when he was doing a parody. I just watched this thing five times.

Makes you wonder who the poor piehead actor is who gets kicked to the curb for Heston there. Then again not so much.
BTW Heston probably had to do that 17 times…to recover from Myers’ Alfa stalling or puking a liter of oil on the gas station pavement.

C’mon – that poor guy had to act just to look like he was acting that bad. Regardless, Heston ruled … you know, as long as he wasn’t waving a gun at someone. Not that I have anything against you gun nuts, Vinnie. Now stop showing up in my front yard at night with all that camo gear.

You’re missing a classic Heston moment.
He’s just finished hosting SNL, with the Replacements as the (glorious) musical guest. As they congratulate each other on a fine show, Paul Westerberg wipes his nose a split-second before shaking Heston’s hand. Leaving the rest of the SNL cast thinking “Why didn’t I think of that?”
