2,000 GUITARS! In Concord?

The City of Concord is poised to go into the record book tonight for hosting an event featuring the most guitars to ever play one song together.

That doesn’t count those plastic Guitar Hero “guitars,” you freaks. Remind me to tell you some day how great of a guitarist all you people would be if you actually spent the same amount of time practicing on a real guitar as you do on the videogame.

Anyway, more than 2,000 are expected to show up in Todos Santos Plaza by 6:30 tonight to play “This Land is Your Land.” The current record is held by Kansas City, who had 1,721 guitarists play Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water” last year.
