Brangelina buys positive coverage?

Apparently, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, when negotiating with People magazine last summer to sell them pictures of their latest offspring, also included some sort of clause forbidding the magazine from writing anything negative about her family, or using the term “Brangelina.”

Whoa. That’s about the worst thing I’ve ever heard.

No, seriously, That’s about the worst thing I’ve ever heard. It’s one thing to buy photo ops, it’s another to promise pre-determined coverage. Thankfully no one of any consequence really considers People a journalistic endeavor.

So, since we’ve already set the precedent, I’d like to open the bidding to not say nasty things about celebrities in the People Column. I’m overdrawn and could use the cash …
