What a week. I started on Sunday afternoon by spending my afternoon off watching one of the worst movies ever made — “Backdraft.” I will never understand how so many good actors (no, not the Baldwins, who almost single-handedly ruined the movie) could be part of such a disaster of overdrama and bad dialogue (not the fire scenes, though — those were pretty awesome). Yet I couldn’t stop watching.
Then the other night I blew off my family to watch one of the worst movies ever made — “Armageddon.” This I do every time it’s on — not even laughing (too hard) at dialogue like (and go to the 7 minute mark of the below clip if you don’t believe me) “Requesting permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I’ve ever known.” It made me throw up a little bit. But I still watched it.
Then yesterday I went to a kid’s movie … alone. Yet it was light-years better than those other turds I can’t help watching every time they’re on.
I don’t understand anything.
