I won’t say I hope Rush Limbaugh’s house vaporizes in the next big earthquake, and he spends three days sleeping and shivering in the street, drinking foul gutter water while waiting for government-funded rescue.
I will say that his compassion is overwhelming. I don’t like to get political in this spot – and I don’t think this necessarily is – but I think the next time this guy actually does something for humanity will be the first.
I hate radio blowhards on both sides of the aisle because it’s mostly posturing and pandering for entertainment’s sake (and for people who can’t form their own opinions), but this is so out of line. People who don’t make much money (OK, me) are trying to figure out how to send $50 or $100 to the Haitian relief effort, and this jerk-off is playing politics and acting like the ugly, selfish American. I can forgive some people for saying stupid things if they really believe it – or if they’re just plain funny, like Pat Robertson – but this guy’s background is in PR and is all about ratings and headlines.
