Hicks: The cable guy must read

So after I wrote a column, detailing the last five weeks of pure cable hell, my wife gets a call from the company this morning, offering to come out tomorrow between two and four to finally install my cable.

Who says you can’t use your job as a journalist for personal gain?

Whoops, uh, ah … not me. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence. Anyway, we’ll see what happens tomorrow between two and four. Honestly, I’ll be very surprised if A) I have cable and Internet by tomorrow night and B) They somehow accomplish this without burning my house down.

We’ll see.

Have you thought about Direct TV or Dish? I have seen these satellite dishes in many apartment units in our neighborhood.

Also, you might consider DSL (AT and T or DSL extreme) for you Internet service.

As you can imagine, I am not a big fan of cable for T.V. Internet or phone service.
