Soundgarden and I will rock

I admit I haven’t been so excited to see a band since – I don’t know. Maybe the Monkees in Disneyland when I was 9.

Soundgarden tonight at the Bill Graham Civic and I’m breaking out the long shorts – not that I’ve worn anything else since 1994 anyway – pairing down the facial hair, and definitely not showering today. I think wearing a flannel may be a bit too much like wearing fake glasses to see Harry Potter.

I won’t bother praddling on about how Soundgarden is one of the great bands ever, bleh bleh bleh. Somehow I don’t think I’ve ever seen them. I do know that I had a chance to see them at the Stone in S.F. back in 1988 or something before all Seattlle hell broke loose and changed my plans at the last minute. Dumb dumb dumb.

It will be miraculous if I don’t rip my shirt down the middle and have some sort of brain explosion. I do know I’m going to turn 44 soon and will probably hurt myself at some point.
