My kid is friends with a truck

The past two weeks my 3-year-old daughter does something really … special … every morning when we get into the car to go to daycare.
Why yes, to answer your question, this is yet another story about my kids being better-looking and far more interesting than yours.
Anyway, a few weeks ago I would notice, when coming home or departing, she would gesture wildly out the window and yell something in her hybrid English-Slavic language, punctuated with a few “Look Daddy”s. I couldn’t figure out what the hell she was so excited about.
Then last week I went to help her into the car, only she wasn’t there. I looked around and she was standing in front of my neighbor’s Toyota truck, patting it’s right fender and talking to it.
OK, I thought. My daughter is friends with a truck.
It’s happened a few more times, including this morning, when she was patting the truck and having some sort of conversation about, I can only assume, last night’s Republican debate, the start of football season, and what exactly will be in Obama’s big jobs creation speech tonight.
I don’t quite know how to tell my neighbor that his truck has some sort of relationship with my 3-year-old daughter, though I imagine the blow will be softened once I explain how much we’re going to sell the rights to Disney for.

No, not Disney! Pixar! It’ll be the great Pixar cross-sequel — Boo from “Monsters Inc.” with Lightning McQueen from “Cars”!

That’s the kind of top-shelf thinking this enterprise needs.
