Oakland Tribune editor Heads to Denver

At 6 a.m. Saturday morning I will step on a United Airlines flight heading to Denver to assist in coverage of the Democratic National Convention. Without a doubt, this is an historic event. I am part of a huge team of MediaNews Group journalists from different papers across the country, all heading to Denver with the goal of covering this monumental political gathering. Over the coming days I will share what I see and hear. It’s going to be a lot of work, and a lot of fun. As a journalist, having the opportunity to help cover this kind of event is a dream come true. Politics themselves are a compelling topic, but this is politics on steroids. Who will be Obama’s V.P. choice? What happens if Hillary is not selected? What happens if he DOES pick her? Is he ready to be president? Can he really deliver change? I don’t have the answer to any of these questions. Let’s see what happens! We’ll do our best to bring you the texture, tone and tenor of this convention as it unfolds. Drop me a line and let me know what you think and what you want to know.
