Burlingame is going all “Hollywood” Wednesday, courtesy of Bay Area DJ Don Bleu and one Stanford student who wants to be a millionaire.
Bleu and his Star 101.3 morning-drive crew will broadcast a Valentine’s Day edition of their show Wednesday from the Broadway Grill at 1400 Broadway. Everyone who shows up during the 6 to 10 a.m. broadcast gets a free breakfast. Also during the broadcast, which serves to promote the fact that the restaurant is now open for breakfast and lunch, Bleu and his merrymakers will conduct a blind date contest, with the winners receiving a limousine ride and free tickets to “Legally Blonde,” the new musical playing at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco.
After the Bleu crew wraps up at 10, you can tune into “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” at 11:30 a.m. on the local ABC affiliate, KGO-TV. There you’ll see Stanford University senior and Burlingame High School graduate Jeff Love, 22, deploy his lifelines in an effort to win roughly $500,000 after taxes.
Love (pictured above) is the radio play-by-play announcer for Stanford’s football, baseball and basketball teams. He will graduate this spring with a Master’s degree in International Policy Studies and plans on working in politics, preferably foreign relations.
Love’s girlfriend Leah was in the audience for the taping of his “Millionaire” spots, which continue on Thursday. So sorry, ladies, but this Love is off-limits.
