Arne Croce can manage with the best of them, according to the California City Management Foundation.
The foundation recently honored San Mateo’s city manager for his outstanding contribution to the profession, citing his dedication and his help in the forming of CITIPAC, a political action committee established in 2003 to support ballot measures and other forms of local advocacy.
Croce, who has served in his role with San Mateo for 17 years, deflected the credit to his fellow city employees, praising their “strong sense of purpose” and the pride they take in their jobs.
“I’ve been privileged to contribute to the city management profession and most importantly, to the functioning and well-being, in my case, of San Mateo,” Croce said.
