Final piece of the puzzle

After a county government reorganization last year allowed the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to each add a third legislative aide to their staffs, the last of the slew of newbies has finally arrived.

Susan “Susie” Altman began last Monday as the third aide for Supervisor Mark Church. An attorney, she most recently finished a year-long stint with the San Francisco-based Office of the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

That brings aide hiring to a close for the supervisors. Some, such as Church, were understaffed for months and were having to backfill positions as well.
