Kevin Bondonno is the first to officially step into a quiet Redwood City council race, though it’s still early in the game.
Bondonno, currently the chairman of the city Housing and Human Concerns Committee, will kick off his campaign for the November elections Saturday at Mezes Park at Warren and Standish streets.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m. with former Mayor and current Councilman Jeff Ira on hand to introduce Bondonno.
“I am running for election to City Council because I want to increase my service to the community,” Bondonno said in a statement. “I want to continue my work in making Redwood City a great place to live, work and play.”

Bondonno also serves on the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County and a Housing Our People Effectively committee. He works for Antenna Software as a senior sales engineer. He is married with three children.
Up for reelection are Mayor Barbara Pierce, Vice Mayor Rosanne Foust, and Councilmembers Alicia Aguirre and Ian Bain.
So far, only Bondonno and Aguirre have filed candidacy intentions.
Pierce said she could announce next week whether or not she will seek another term in office.
