Just this week, reporter James Temple wrote about Bo’s Barbecue in this piece, Southern-bred generosity provides tasty, jazzy dish.
At Bo’s Barbecue in Lafayette, the little extras are as obvious as the mouthwatering scent of smoking meats — and for the same reason.
The owner, William “Bo” McSwine, learned his values and his recipes at his mother’s hip in Mississippi, watching and lending a hand as she regularly prepared meals for church members who wouldn’t have eaten otherwise.
McSwine gives a little extra when it comes to his food, seeking out high-end and sustainable products, like Niman Ranch beef and pork, Sonoma Select chicken and organic produce.
McSwine also is featured on the San Francisco Exploratorium’s web site, where you can see video of him explaining the perfect barbecue.
