Once again, property crimes _ such as car thefts and break ins _ lead the list of crimes reported to Orinda police.
Monday, Feb. 5
n CAR THEFT —An East Altarinda Drive resident reported at 4:01 p.m. that someone broke into a locked vehicle and stole $1,295.50 worth of possessions.
Sunday, Feb. 11
n CAR THEFT — A Barbara Road resident reported at 9:13 a.m. that someone broke his car window and stole a duffel bag containing clothing that belonged to his deceased father. The clothing was found scattered around another street. Other items of value in the car were not disturbed.
n CAR THEFT — A La Espiral resident reported at 11:55 a.m. that someone broke into an unlocked vehicle and stole $333 worth of belongings.
n CAR THEFT — A Longridge Road resident reported at 12:39 p.m. that someone stole camera equipment from an unlocked car.
n FRAUD — Police arrested a 21-year-old Oakland man at 12:58 p.m. on Moraga Way for buying a car with a false cashiers check.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
n BURGLARY — A Valley View Drive resident reported at 3:49 p.m. that someone had broken into the home and stolen a laptop, a cable box, two gold watches, cash and a business check book.
Wednesday, Feb. 21
n THEFT — A Muth Drive resident reported that someone broke into the garage, damaged the garage door, and stole about $3,170 worth of belongings. Police lifted several fingerprints at the scene.
Thursday, Feb. 22
n DRUGS — Police arrested a 30-year-old Rodeo man at 2:12 p.m. at St. Stephens Drive and Wanda Way after finding a bag of meth and a glass pipe.
Friday, Feb. 23
n BURGLARY — A Moraga Way resident reported at 9:57 a.m. that someone had broken the kitchen window. The resident found a small metal ball outside the window, and police determined that it was slingshot ball ammunition.
