Friday’s police log in the Lamorinda Sun includes mention of an explosive device found in a Moraga mailbox.

Thursday, Feb. 8
n AUTO BURGLARY — An auto burglary was reported to have occurred at 9 a.m. on Moraga Way. The loss was a Kenwood stereo valued at approximately $500.
Saturday, Feb. 24
n VEHICLE ACCIDENT — Officers contacted the owner of a silver 2007 Honda Hybrid in the parking lot at the Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School on Camino Pablo. He said he had parked his vehicle in a stall located in the front parking lot facing Camino Pablo. He left the vehicle unattended between 10 and 11:50 a.m. When he returned he discovered an unknown vehicle had struck his vehicle’s drivers side rear bumper causing a scratch. No note was left. Damage was estimated at $500.
n VANDALISM — Officers responded to a residence on Spyglass Lane on a report of vandalism that had just occurred. Upon arrival at 7:01 p.m. victim contact was made. It was determined that at 6:40 p.m. a loud explosion was heard. The victim noted the residence’s exterior mailbox had been damaged by an unknown explosive device. A search of the immediate area resulted in the finding of a damaged plastic bottle, suggesting explosion resulted from a confined combustible material. Total damage is estimated at $100.
Monday, Feb. 26
n VANDALISM — A business man on Center Street called to report that an unknown suspect had broken his window. He said when he left his business at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 his front business window was not broken. At 2 p.m. Feb. 27 he noticed a crack in the window, perhaps from a BB gun.
