Acalanes school board member Vanessa Crews said of Paul Yriberri, who died March 3 at age 58: “Coaching wasn’t
about winning or losing; it was how could he help the kids feel good.”
School Principal Raúl M. Zamora told students Wednesday that a celebration of Yriberri’s life will be held March 17, 2 to 4 p.m. on the Miramonte Quad.
Zamora said: Paul Yriberri lived by example and celebrated life with family, friends, colleagues, and students … family members and close friends (say) that Mr. Yriberri appreciated celebrations of memories and would like the community to share in the experience. The venue will provide for family, friends, colleagues, students, and our community to share fond memories individually, rather than as part of a formal ceremony. Our Parents Club, Foods Classes, and
volunteers will provide light refreshments in the cafeteria. Mr. Yriberri’s favorite music will sound through the quad and a video of loving memories will stream during the venue. Most importantly, the dress is casual, preferably your favorite Hawaiian shirt, Mr. Yriberri’s favorite.
If you would like to provide assistance for the celebration, contact Marsha Sias at 925-335- 2604 or email: email@example.com.
