LAFAYETTE — Two women were charged with burglary in the theft of copper pipes from a former Albertson’s store.

The District Attorney’s Office charged Debra Keller, 48, and Jill Bloomquist, 44, with commercial burglary in connection to a break-in last month at the corner of First Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard.

Police said the two women entered the building, which is the future home of Whole Foods Market, through the roof. They were using power tools to cut pipes from the walls and a makeshift hoist to haul them from the building
