There have been several sightings of mountain lions in Lafayette recently.

On Thursday, a runner spotted a mountain lion cub just off of the Lafayette-Moraga Trail near the border of Lafayette and Moraga. Other residents have claimed to see a mother mountain lion with one or two cubs in the area along St. Mary’s Road.

Several months ago, a resident was able to take a picture of one in the Lafayette Community Park where similar sightings have occurred many times in the past few years.

If you come face-to-face with a mountain lion, do not run from it or bother it. The best thing to do is raise your arms in the air and yell loudly.
