DFAL basketball season comes to an end

All three local high schools’ basketball teams finished up their DFAL seasons Friday night, leaving the NCS seeding committee with one final impression.

The Miramonte boys finished their perfect (12-0) DFAL season by beating Alhambra 69-45.

The Campolindo and Acalanes boys teams played a back-and-forth game that saw the Dons jump out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Cougars stormed back and took a 30-27 lead into halftime. The Cougars extended their lead to five points after three quarters, but the Dons took control of the game in the fourth quarter, closing the Cougars out, 68-62.

Campolindo finished third in the DFAL, while Acalanes finished fifth.

The Campolindo and Miramonte girls teams both won Friday night, finishing in a tie for second behind DFAL champion Dublin.

The Mats dominated Alhambra, 61-44, while Campolindo rode strong second and third quarters to a 63-50 victory over Acalanes.

The Acalanes girls finished fourth in the DFAL.
