Local teams battle in NCS basketball quarterfinals

After beating Campolindo in the first round of the NCS basketball playoffs, the Acalanes boys had to face Miramonte in the quarterfinals Friday night.

Miramonte went undefeated in DFAL play, including two wins over Acalanes. The third match-up between the two teams looked the same as the first two with the Matadors winning, 66-49.

The Miramonte boys will host Piner High School Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in one of the semifinals.

On the girls side, bitter rivals Campolindo and Miramonte faced each other in a quarterfinal Friday night. The Cougars won on their home floor, 71-63.

The Campolindo girls will face the number one seed, Bishop O’Dowd, Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Bishop O’Dowd will host that semifinal game.
