Saint Mary’s student accused of rape out on bail

A 20 year-old sophomore at Saint Mary’s College being accused of rape was released from Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez on Monday after he posted $100,000 bail.

The suspect, Blake Johnson, was arrested on campus Friday after being accused of rape by another student at the college. He was taken to County Jail in Martinez to be booked following the arrest.

The female student claims that  Johnson assaulted her Jan. 24 on campus.

The case is set to be presented to the district attorney’s office Tuesday.
