The Campolindo baseball team proved they are a team that could make a lot of noise in the East Bay this season as they won the Eagle Classic Wednesday.
The Cougars faced a tough squad from Freedom High School in the championship game, but a 6-3 victory gave them the title of the eight-team tournament.
In their first round game, the Cougars beat one of the top teams in the area, Newark Memorial, 7-3. In their second game, Campolindo had to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk off victorious over Heritage, 5-4.
The three tournament wins improve the Cougars record to 13-3 overall. The team is currently in third place in the DFAL, but they are just one game back of first.
