Moraga Citizen of the Year selected

The 2009 Moraga Citizen of the Year is John Haffner, 62, who has lived in Moraga for 30 years.

Haffner currently serves as a parks and recreation commissioner and donates much of his time to local organizations. Some of the groups Haffner is involved with include the Moraga Chamber of Commerce, the Moraga Citizens Network and the Kiwanis Club of the Moraga Valley.

The 2009 Moraga Citizen of the Year dinner will take place on May 1 at the Soda Activity Center on the campus of Saint Mary’s College. The program will begin at 7 p.m., while cocktails will be served starting at 6 p.m. Tickets to the event will be $40 and can be purchased by calling Larry Swindell at 925-376-5692.
