An Orinda police officer pulled over a man Wednesday morning just after 2:00 a.m. on suspicion of drunken driving. After pulling the man over, the officer searched the man’s vehicle and found around 1,000 tablets of Ecstasy and a pound of marijuana. The man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell.

Orinda police officers also helped in the search of the man’s home in Pittsburgh, which turned up another 200 Ecstasy tablets, $2,000 in cash and a loaded handgun.

The drugs found during the car and home searches are worth more than $15,000. The man has a previous criminal record, which stops him from being allowed to own a gun.
