High school sports update

The Miramonte and Acalanes baseball teams faced off in a DFAL game Wednesday that the Matadors needed to win to remain in first place by themselves in the league standings. The Matadors were able to do that with a 6-0 win over the Dons.

Campolindo’s DFAL baseball game against Dublin on Tuesday took three extra innings to decide. The Cougars scored two runs in the top of the tenth inning to secure the victory, 4-2. The win improved their record to 7-3 in DFAL play and 18-4 overall.

In girls lacrosse, all three local teams dominated their opponents. Miramonte beat Alhambra, 14-1, on Monday, while Campolindo followed that up by beating Alhambra, 22-1, on Tuesday. Acalanes claimed their victory over Dublin on Tuesday by a score of 14-5.

The Acalanes softball team played an all-around solid game Tuesday, beating Miramonte, 7-1. The Campolindo softball team crushed Dublin, 19-1, also on Tuesday.

The Campolindo boys volleyball team improved their DFAL record to 7-1 with an impressive victory over Miramonte, 25-10, 25-14, and 25-15.
