Services for Lafayette man who died on Mt. Lassen this Monday

The man who died at the top of Mt. Lassen on Saturday was Lawrence “Larry” Hazard of Lafayette. Hazard suffered a massive heart attack on the mountain, while he was with his daughter and granddaughter. Two helicopter crews came to the rescue of Hazard, but the heart attack proved to be fatal.

Services for Larry Hazard will be held on Monday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anselms Episcopal Church in Lafayette.

Hazard’s family has asked that contributions in memory of him to be made to Squaw Valley Ski Patrol, a non-profit organization where Hazard was Assistant Patrol Director. Contributions can be sent to: Squaw Valley Ski Patrol, c/o Wes Schimmelpfenning, P.O. Box 8396, Tahoe City, CA 96145.
