Former Campolindo baseball standout Aaron Poreda was part of a trade today that saw him go from the Chicago White Sox to the San Diego Padres.
Poreda was drafted by the White Sox in the first round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft and has spent most of his time since in the minor leagues, as the White Sox wanted to bring him up through the system slowly.
He made his major league debut this season, appearing in 10 games in relief. In the 11 innings he pitched, Poreda gave up only nine hits and three runs, while striking out 12.
The Padres are likely to move Poreda back into a starting pitcher role and may bring him up to the major league club this season.
