The Lamorinda Petanque Club hosted the 2009 FPUSA Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles National Tournaments on July 25 and 26 at the Lafayette Petanque Courts.

Players from thirteen different petanque clubs competed in the tournaments with the top finishers in each tournament being awarded medals and prizes. Jacques de Noray, the Deputy French Consul, came to the event from San Francisco to hand out the awards.

The tournaments started early in the morning each day and, despite the high temperatures all day, continued into the night.

The FPUSA was pleased with how well the Lamorinda Petanque Club hosted the event, and the club could very well host major tournaments in the future.
