Despite a disappointing regular season, in which the Matadors finished with a 4-6 overall record, the twelfth seeded Miramonte football team pulled off an upset victory in their first-round NCS playoff game against the fifth seed, Healdsburg. The Matadors scored a touchdown with two minutes remaining in the game and then were able to hold off Healdsburg’s last attempts, sealing a 30-28 victory. Miramonte will play either Novato or Piedmont in the quarterfinals next week.

Acalanes held the lead in their first-round NCS playoff game for almost the entire game. Unfortunately for the Dons, Analy took their first lead with 4:38 remaining in the game and held on. The Dons are eliminated from the playoffs following the 19-17 loss.
