The Campolindo boys basketball team took a commanding lead in the DFAL race Tuesday night by beating second-place rival Acalanes by a score of 57-40.

The win continued¬†Campolindo’s perfect league record and earned the team its second consecutive big win over a rival, as the Cougars beat Miramonte, 57-34, on Friday, Feb. 5.

The Cougars are 10-0 in DFAL play after the win over Acalanes and 20-4 overall. Because the loss pushed Acalanes to 7-2 in the DFAL, the Cougars only need to win one of their two remaining games, or have Acalanes lose one of their three remaining games to clinch the league title.

The Cougars play at Doughtery Valley this Friday and at home vs. Alhambra on Friday, Feb. 19.

Miramonte is currently sitting in third with a 5-4 DFAL record with three league games remaining, including a huge game against Acalanes on Tuesday.
