Meg Whitman spoke at the Lafayette Veteran’s Memorial Hall tonight as part of her campaign to become the republican candidate for governor. Whitman was brought to Lafayette to speak in front of the crowd, primarily composed of members of the Commonwealth Club.

Whitman spoke about how her prior experience, including being the former CEO of Ebay, will help her manage the problem-solving needed to handle some of California’s major problems.

Whitman is currently leading in the polls to be the Republican gubernatorial candidate and has recently drawn even with the likely Democratic candidate Jerry Brown.

The night did not go perfect for Whitman as there were some protesters outside of the Veterans Memorial Hall, including members of the California Nurses Association.
