National politics became a major focus in Lafayette Tuesday when former Deputy Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush, Karl Rove, spoke at the Veterans Memorial Building.
More than 400 local Republicans paid $75 for the chance to hear Rove talk, along with lunch and a copy of his new book “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight.”
Rove discussed his stance on some of the recent moves made by Democrats; not surprisingly, he disagreed with those moves. He also took the time to discuss his experience in the White House.
Protestors from the group CodePink gathered outside of the Veterans Memorial Building, but none were allowed inside.
