Film festival hits Orinda next Thursday

The Orinda Theatre will host the 12th annual California Independent Film Festival April 22-25.

The festival will begin on Thursday night with a reception starting at 5:00 p.m. A screening of the film, “Expecting Mary,” will show up after the reception at 7:00 p.m.

The festival’s awards gala, which costs $125 to attend, will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Blackhawk Auto Museum.

Other films being screened at the festival are “The Lightkeepers,” “Logorama,” “Lovely, Still” and a group of 3-minute films that are the result of an Iron Filmmaker contest, in which filmmakers have 24 hours to produce a 3-minute film.
