Three-time Moraga mayor Williams Combs passed away Monday at the age of 79. Combs was also one of the original Moraga town council members.

Combs was elected to the Moraga town council shortly after the town was incorporated in 1974. He served on the council for the next 12 years.

Combs, who was a Moraga resident from 1964 to 2005, had a huge impact on the creation of the council and on the parks and recreation department.
