Daniel “Ted” Lazarus, 70, of Orinda, was reported missing early Monday morning. Lazarus, who has dementia, was seen at 10:30 a.m. near the Saint Mary’s Library with a yellow mountain bike, police said.

According to the Contra Costa County sheriff’s office, Lazarus was found shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Bear Creek Road in Orinda.

The distance between Saint Mary’s College and Bear Creek Road in Orinda is about 10 miles.

Finding Lazarus became a major priority for police due to his age and illness putting him at risk. Despite the worries, Lazarus was in good health when he was found.
