Keep your eyes peeled for a more detailed story about this in the Sun in the coming weeks, but some pretty cool news out of Campolindo High School. The school’s Chamber Singers have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
A press release I got this afternoon was a little vague on the timing, saying only they’ll perform at the Festival at Carnegie Hall in 2011 or 2012 (surely putting singers in the class of 2011 on edge).
The Carnegie Hall festival is one of the top dogs among the showcases put on by Heritage Festivals, a group I’m fairly familiar with from my high school days in band and choir (although we mostly just went to Disneyland). Campo’s singers earned the invitation to New York thanks to a Gold rating at a festival in Seattle.
