At many town and city council meetings throughout the area and beyond, those from the community wishing to have their voice heard are asked to first turn in a speaker card with pertinent information.
The Town of Moraga has never required this before at their meetings, but they will be making the change as council members believe it would be beneficial to the town clerk ensuring proper spelling of speakers’ names. It was also noted that it would help to keep things organized at meetings where many people wanted to speak.
The one worry was that it could slow down the process of allowing people to speak. Council members wanted to ensure that everyone will be able to speak at meetings despite the change.
