The Campolindo boys volleyball team is proving that their number one seed is no mistake. They opened up the NCS playoffs with a three-set victory over Novato in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the Cougars knocked off fourth-seeded Alameda in four sets. The Cougars are facing off against Sir Francis Drake High School at 7:00 p.m. tonight at Campolindo.
Although the boys and girls teams from Miramonte, Campolindo and Acalanes all earned spots in the NCS playoffs, all six teams have been eliminated.
On the girls side, Campolindo and Miramonte both suffered first round defeats. Acalanes made it to the quarterfinals, where they lost 8-7 to the second seed, Amador Valley.
The story was almost identical on the boys side, as Acalanes was the only team to win their first round game. The Dons beat Miramonte, 10-8, in the first round, but they fell 10-6 in the quarterfinals against Foothill, the number one seed.
