The Orinda-Moraga-Lafayette Branch of the American Association of University Women held a special luncheon on May 18 at the Orinda Country Club. During the luncheon, the organization honored Mary Stevens Smith as the recipient of the 2010 Distinguished Woman Award. Smith has been a  major contributor to the branch during more than 30 years as a member.

The current board president of the branch, Leslie Pfeifer, also used the luncheon as a time to present the branch’s new president, Mary Helene Tietz.

During a recap of the past year, it was revealed that the branch was first in the state in contributions to legal advocacy.
