The Acalanes football team showed their strength is in their defense, as the Dons’ defense actually outscored the opponent Ygnacio Valley, 2-0. In addition to holding Ygnacio Valley to only four passing yards, the Dons also recorded a fourth quarter safety to win, 9-0.
Campolindo’s defense shined as well, as the Cougars allowed only 22 yards of total offense in their game at Albany. The Cougars narrowly missed a shutout of their own when Albany scored a touchdown with only 11 seconds left to make the final score, 21-6.
Miramonte dominated Analy on the ground in their opener. The Matadors piled up 200 total rushing yards on their way to a 21-7 victory.
