The New Rheem Theatre was burglarized sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. The burglar broke into a second-story window and entered the Rheem Theatre’s offices, stealing an undetermined amount of money.

The once dormant theater likely became a target to the criminal after the theater has been experiencing publicized success this summer. In addition to showing hit new releases, there have also been classic movie nights and teen events that have brought in large crowds.

In fact, the New Rheem Theatre will be holding a special showing of the film “The Sound of Music” on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. Angela Cartwright, who plays one of the children in the film, will be in attendance for a Q&A session. For more information, visit the New Rheem Theatre’s website.
