Over 1,800 marijuana plants were seized by authorities this morning from a grow location in the hills of the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness. The location is technically located in unincorporated San Ramon, but it is right out Bollinger Canyon Road from Moraga.

Two men were spotted at the location when authorities arrived. One of the men, Policarpio Gallegos, 63, of Pittsburg, was arrested, but the other man escaped into the wilderness. Police believe he was heading toward Moraga.

The grow location was spotted in August by a helicopter, and police have been keeping surveillance since.

An early estimate by police valued the plants at $250,000.
