The Town of Moraga will have a public memorial and celebration on Veterans Day this year. As part of the event, a new memorial rock will be dedicated to veterans in the Moraga Commons Park.

The celebration will take place on Thursday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11:00 a.m, and is open to the public.

The memorial rock is the result of Campolindo student Tony Knox’s Boy Scout Eagle project after Moraga resident and veteran John Haffner came up with the idea. The rock, which features an engraved plaque honoring the military and its members,┬áis three feet high and made of granite.
