Moraga man named Superior Court Judge; new director of Moraga library

Thomas Rogers, 59, of Moraga, was appointed to be a judge in the Alameda County Superior Court by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday.

Since 1976, Rogers has worked in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. He first worked as a deputy district attorney and more recently was chief deputy district attorney. He also headed the Northern Division, based in Oakland.

The new republican judge will be happy to know that the annual salary for a Superior Court judge is $178,789.

Beth Girshman will be the new director of the Moraga Library. Girshman previously spent 28 years working at the Jones Library in Amherst, Mass.
