Update on Lafayette post office crash

According to police, the woman who was struck by a car in front of the Lafayette Post Office on Tuesday was actually pushed by the car into the outside wall of the building, leaving her pinned until paramedics were able to get her out 20 minutes later.

A doctor who happened to be shopping in the area at the time of the accident helped to keep the woman stable until paramedics arrived on the scene.

The driver has been confirmed to be a man in his 60s who has not been cited or arrested by police. Police are investigating the accident.
