The riders of the popular “Lamorinda Spirit” van will get to ride in a brand new van soon thanks to a federal grant helping the program. The Lamorinda Spirit van is used to provide safe transportation for senior citizens in the area who need to make it to appointments, run errands, etc.

The Lamorinda Spirit van program is run by Lamorinda Senior Transportation, who is responsible for applying for the federal grant. Through the grant, the federal government will pay for 88.53% of the price of the van, leaving the city to only pay just over 11%, which equates to less than $10,000.
