Another Campolindo sports team is experiencing success beyond just the league level, as the girls basketball team advanced to the state quarterfinals with a win Thursday night.

The Cougars knocked off the third seed, Sacred Heart Cathedral, 63-57, in a highly competitive contest. They will be the underdogs in the state quarterfinals when they face off against the second seed, Sacramento, at Sacramento High School at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Miramonte girls basketball team’s season ended Thursday night at the hands of the same Sacramento team Campolindo will face. The Matadors lost, 50-43, in their game at Sacramento High.
